The Birthright of Aliveness: An Invitation
This is an invitation to allow yourself to feel alive.
As important as it is to turn toward the abandoned, hurting parts of ourselves that hide in the shadows, it is equally important to reach toward all that feels nourishing and joyful. It’s not about ignoring pain, pretending to like every part of life, or denying systemic injustices that keep people marginalized and oppressed. What it is about is allowing life to be both/and–complex, nuanced, and complicated, and still granting yourself the birthright of feeling alive.
When we allow ourselves to do what feels meaningful, fulfilling, and aligned with our personal values, we awaken a sense of drive, motivation, and lust for life. This passion and energy become a compass that guides us toward what nourishes us.
If this stirs something within you, I invite you to reflect more deeply:
- When do you feel most alive?
- What gives your life purpose?
- What stops you from feeling connected to yourself and the world around you?
There are no wrong answers–only what is true for you. Give yourself permission to turn inward and listen closely to that which feels alive inside. Don’t just notice it: embody it. Allow yourself to feel it fully, and let it guide you forward.
Your aliveness is waiting.
